come off cloud nine

To return to normality or become more somber following a state of extreme, euphoric happiness. After I told her how much of her winnings would be going to taxes, she definitely came off cloud nine a bit. I was so overjoyed to get this job, but I must admit that I've been coming off cloud nine now that I'm settling into the new work routine. Being engaged is wonderful, but now that I've started to think about wedding planning, I've definitely come off cloud nine somewhat. There's just so much to do!
