5. rude slang Used after "like" to describe someone or something as being disgusting. I'm sure I smell like ass after being in the gym all afternoon. Yuck, this soup tastes like ass! Did something die in your car? Why does it smell like ass in here?
6. rude slang Used after "like" to describe someone or something as being bad or unpleasant. I shouldn't have drank so much last night. I feel like utter ass this morning. His painting looked like ass, but I didn't want to hurt his feelings. I stopped by Sara's house last night, and she looked like ass. I wonder how long it will take for her to recover from the surgery.
7. rude slang Ridiculous lies or nonsense. Used to express irritation or exasperation. You mean we have to come in on Saturday for work, too? God, what a bunch of ass! His whole speech was a load of ass from beginning to end. Please, his excuse is a load of ass. He never had any intention of following through on his promise.
8. rude slang A stupid, boorish, or inept person. In this usage, "ass" is a reference to donkeys and other animals of the subgenus Asinus. Why do you have to be such an ass, Jerry? Can't you act with a little bit of tact and common sense? I felt like a total ass after realizing that what I'd said had come across as so offensive. Any time we go out and Ed starts drinking, he ends up making an ass of himself. I don't know how he's so oblivious to that.
9. rude slang Used immediately after an adjective (usually connected by a hyphen) to intensify its meaning. Wow, that's one big-ass TV you've got there! How many inches is it? Please, Dave, not another one of your stupid-ass jokes. Did you really just say that two plus two equals five? Wow, there's a dumb-ass answer!
