1. To be or feel overly concerned, anxious, or fretful about someone or something. There's no point worrying over the test now. You've done all you can do! I can't help but worry over Jonathan. 2. To cause someone or oneself to feel overly concerned, anxious, or fretful about something. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "worry" and "over." A: "Why on earth didn't you call?" B: "I didn't want to worry you over nothing." The more she explained the situation, the more she started worrying me over the viability of the project. You shouldn't worry yourself over such minor issues.
