To decide to remove someone from a role, position, or group through an official organized vote. Often used in passive constructions. A noun or pronoun can be used between "vote" and "out." Only congress has the power to vote the president out through the impeachment process. I really think we ought to vote him out of the club after the awful things he did. Word has come through that the CEO has been voted out by a 72–18 majority of the board.
