To relocate from one's current residence. Primarily heard in UK, Ireland. The more I think about how much we love the coast, the more I think we should just up sticks and find a place near the beach.
up sticks go to live elsewhere. British informal
ˌup ˈsticks (and go, etc.) (British English, informal) leave your home in order to move to another one: Things weren’t working out for them here, so they upped sticks and went to Chicago.
