To show contemptuous or haughty disdain, distaste, or disregard for someone or something. The duke turned up his nose at having to sit beside local fishermen during the press event. The members of the board may turn up their noses at our plan, but they'll come to realize that it's the only chance we have of keeping the company afloat. She turned up her nose at me when I asked her out.
