time hangs heavy on (one's) hands

Time seems to pass very slowly for one, as due to boredom or a lack of stimulation. I always find that time hangs heavy on my hands at these corporate seminars, so I bring a lot of crossword puzzles with me. It's a nice job with good pay, but time hangs heavy on your hands in there.
