To recall; to think about someone or something in the past. Often followed by "on (someone or something)" or "to (something)." It's a little bittersweet to think back to that time in my life when I was so happy. Thinking back on my family growing up, I realize that there was no sense of friendship between my siblings and me.

to remember back to something in the past. Now, try and think back to the night of January 16. I can't think back. My mind is preoccupied with other things.
(on someone or something) to remember and think about someone or something. When I think back on Sally and the good times we had together, I get very sad. I like to think back on my childhood and try to remember what it was like.

To consider or think about the past; recollect: Think back to that time we went to the zoo. I thought back on all the the things we've done for the company.
