the Force

An unseen, mystical power used to accomplish something. The term originated in the Star Wars films. Often used humorously. The final essay question of the exam was on the only chapter I didn't study, so I really had to use the Force to pull an answer out of the air. A: "This is going to be one of the toughest matches I've competed in all year." B: "Good luck, and may the Force be with you."
