take (one) up on (something)

To agree to an offer one had made, especially one made previously. I'm coming to town this weekend, so can I take you up on that spare bedroom you've offered me in the past?

take someone up on something

to accept an offer that someone has made. That's a good offer. I'll take you up on it. Tom took Sue up on her offer of dinner.
