1. To bring some event onto the streets outside. The venue tried to shut our concert down at 10 PM, so we just took it to the street and kept on partying! We're taking this celebration to the streets with a parade right through downtown!
2. To bring something into public awareness or consciousness. I agree that action needs to be taken, but our lives could be endangered if we take it to the street. We have to take this issue out to the streets if we want people to do anything about it.
