1. To extend or expand outward or forward. The river suddenly opened up and stretched forth as it joined the ocean. The land seems to stretch forth from my grandfather's cabin forever.
2. To extend something outward or forward. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "stretch" and "forth." I asked the child to stretch her arm forth so I could examine the wound. The dog stretched forth its nose, tentatively sniffing at the stranger's hand.
