1. To fill something or some place with a foul odor. Tom, your tuna sandwich is stinking up the office! Please go eat it somewhere else! Please don't stink the house up with your smoking—if you have to do it, go outside.
2. To give a very poor or poorly received performance in some location. Hopefully this awful turd of a play won't be stinking up theaters for much longer. No thanks, I don't need you and your crappy band stinking up my bar.
