To remove something attached or adhered to the surface of something else by soaking it in some liquid. The noun or pronoun can also come after "off." I have a big interview tomorrow, so I need to soak these rainbow-colored acrylic nails off of my fingertips. I used a special acetone solution to soak those labels off the bottles.
