1. To score a lot of points while playing something, such as a sport or game. Wow, you scored big! I'm not great at pinball myself. The opposing team sure scored big—five goals in the first period.
2. To achieve or accomplish something noteworthy or impressive. The firm scored big by bringing that prominent client on board. We really scored big by finding this beautiful couch at such a deep discount.
3. To please someone very much, as by doing something in particular. The company scored big with its customers by offering free two-day shipping. Tom got his wife tickets to her favorite Broadway musical for her birthday. I'd say he scored big with her this year.
