obsolete slang A revolver or semiautomatic pistol. From the early 1900s, used primarily in reference to criminals or criminal activities. Sometimes capitalized. Be sure to take your roscoes with you when you go to make him pay up. I flashed my Roscoe and the two thugs backed off.
