reach to (someone or something)

1. To extend or stretch out to or in the direction of someone or something. The new railway line reaches all the way to the other side of the country. My eyes reached to the sky through my grandmother's telephone. The patient reached to the nurse, begging her for a glass of water.
2. To extend or stretch something out to or in the direction of someone or something. In this usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "reach" and "to." He reached his hand to me in a gesture of friendship. The insect reached its antennae out to the stimuli in front of it.

reach to something

to extend all the way to something. Our property reaches to the bank of the river. The grounds reach all the way to the banks of the river.
