To clean, clear, or scrape something out or away (from something or some place) by or as if by raking. A noun or pronoun can be used between "rake" and "out." The irrigation ditch is overflowing again. You need to go down there and rake out all the moss and leaves. The linebacker raked the ball out from the tight end's hands with his fingers.
