To pour a liquid or loose substance on top of someone, something, or some surface. A noun or pronoun is usually used between "pour" and "on." He poured ice-cold water on me to wake me up. The forms are all set and the ground is level, so go ahead and pour on the concrete. He poured the coins on the carpet to see how much money he had left.
pour something on (to) something
to discharge a vessel of something onto something. Don broke open the piggy bank and poured the money onto the kitchen table. Don spread out a towel on the table and poured the money on it.
