pileup

A car accident in which multiple vehicles have crashed together or have been damaged by the crash. Sometimes hyphenated. A pileup on I-25 has caused traffic to come to standstill. The driver of the truck that was involved in the five-car pile-up is being investigated for driving under the influence.
