1. To hold something back with pegs. (In each usage, a noun or pronoun can be used between "peg" and "back.") I need to peg back the curtain while I wash the floors.
2. In sports, to bring the score back to equal against one's opponent. Primarily heard in UK. I thought we had the championship in the bag, but the other team managed to peg us back in the final seconds of the match.
