pace around

To walk around or back and forth (in some place), as in fear, anger, anxiety, frustration, etc. I hate seeing the animals in the zoo pace around their cages like that. They all look so unhappy! I couldn't stop pacing around while I waited to hear back from the doctor.

to walk around nervously or anxiously. Stop pacing around and sit down. There is no need to pace about.
