out of tune with (someone or something)

1. Literally, not in same, correct musical key as someone or something. Hyphenated if used before a noun. I think your voice is a bit out of tune with the music. Stop, stop, stop! Someone is out of tune with the rest of us.
2. At odds with someone or something; not in harmony or agreement with someone or something. I'm often out of tune with my family because they don't approve of my line of work. The company is clearly out of tune with the needs and wants of their customers.
