One's facial expression indicates surprise. Often modified with words like "practically" or "nearly" after the word "eyes." My eyes practically popped out of my head when I saw that my parents had bought me a car for my birthday! I love watching people's eyes pop out of their head when I tell them that they've got a winning lottery ticket. When Matt brought out one of the original action figures, in mint condition, I swear, my eyes basically popped out of my head.
