on the off chance of (something)

In the unlikely event of something happening or being the case. I went to the box office on the off chance of there still being tickets available to tonight's show. I know it's supposed to stay dry tonight, but on the off chance of rain, please put the kids' bikes back in the shed so they don't get rusty.
