To be extremely embarrassed and flustered, uncomfortable, or ill at ease as a result; to not know how to behave in an embarrassing situation. We didn't know where to look when Jan and Pete started fighting during dinner. I hate hanging out with Sarah and Suzie. I always feel like a third wheel, and I never know where to look when they start cuddling or kissing.
