slang A variant spelling and pronunciation of "nigga," itself a variant of the word "nigger," an extremely offensive racial epithet used against people of African descent. These variants are used within the black community as reclaimed terms, often with connotations of camaraderie, but they are still considered extremely offensive if used by anyone outside that community.
