slang Foolish, nonsensical, or absurd talk or thought; rubbish. A: "I heard that the polar ice caps are melting at a faster rate than ever before!" B: "Ah, that's just a bunch of moonshine cooked up by the communists!" Don't waste our time with moonshine like that, Dave.

1. n. nonsense; humbug. That’s just moonshine! I don’t believe a word.
2. n. homemade whiskey; any cheap or inferior liquor. Moonshine is supposed to be strong, not good.
3. in. to distill or traffic in illicit liquor. (see also moonshiner.) You would be amazed at how much people moonshine back in the hills.
