To tinker, fiddle, or play with something. Hey, don't monkey with the thermostat—it needs to stay at 68 degrees. Grandpa's been monkeying with that old radio all day, but I doubt he'll get it to work again. I wish I hadn't started monkeying with the settings on my computer. It's all messed up now!
