old-fashioned Something has happened or one has done something a lot of times in the past. Many and many's the time that I've made mistakes, but I've always owned up to them and accepted the consequences. Living with insomnia is a waking nightmare. Many and many's the time I've spent the whole night wandering back and forth between rooms, just trying to find ways to pass the hours till daybreak.
