like the wind, go/run

Very swiftly. “Swifter than the winds” appears as far back as the Roman poet Virgil’s Aeneid and is echoed by numerous later writers. Another old expression, no longer heard, is on the wings of the wind, which appears twice in the Book of Psalms and was repeated by many later writers.
