kick down

To force something to open, fall down, or break apart with a kick. A noun or pronoun can be used between "kick" and "down." The firefighter had to kick the door down to get in and save the children from the burning house. He came over and kicked down his sister's stack of blocks. The scoundrel came by and kicked the ladder down from off the side of the house, stranding the poor laborer up on the roof.
