kick (oneself) for (doing something)

kick (oneself) for (doing something)

To reprove or rebuke oneself for something one has done; to be angry with or disappointed in oneself for doing something. I knew I'd be kicking myself later for not getting that bag, so I went ahead and bought it. Plenty of companies are kicking themselves for not investing in the technology at an earlier stage.
