jam into (something)
1. To fit into a small or tight space, especially with force or difficulty. We all jammed into Tom's tiny little van.
2. To cause someone or something to fit into a tight space or container. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "jam" and "into." How many people can we jam into the conference room? Quit jamming more stuff into this suitcase, it's full!
3. To drive or wedge something forcibly into a tight space between or inside of something. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "jam" and "into." Someone obviously jammed this screwdriver into the gears of the machine on purpose. I jammed my foot into the crack in the wall so that I could lift myself up over the top of it.
