Welsh National Opera's In Parenthesis, composed by Iain Bell, is a beautiful adaptation of the epic WWI poem by David Jones.
The opera In Parenthesis takes its cue from an epic poem by David Jones, which was first published in 1937, and tells of his own experiences as an infantryman in the Great War.
In Caernarfon - where the Royal Welch Fusiliers, with which Jones served, were based - the performance was entitled Peblig In Parenthesis. "Peblig" because of the estate where the participants came from, and part of the Communities First Estates project.
