if ever there was

if ever there was

Used to emphasize the importance of something or highlight that it is true. Often followed by "one" if used at the end of a sentence, or by "this is it" if used at the beginning of a sentence. I've been hearing a lot of rumors about a round of layoffs on the horizon. If ever there was time to be looking for a new job, this is it. Now that was an exciting hockey game if ever there was one!
