To agree or go along with something. Your story better hold with the one I told mom, or else we're definitely going to get caught!
Agree with, support, as in I don't hold with that view of the situation. [c. 1300]
To support or agree with something. Used chiefly in the negative: I don't hold with your theories, because you don't have enough evidence to support them.
