hit piece

(redirected from hit-pieces)

hit piece

A very critical attack on someone or something, especially through media outlets. Often includes information that is biased, misleading, or completely false. Actually, I saw the movie, and the scathing review you mentioned wasn't a hit piece or anything—the movie is actually that terrible. Of course that guy would run a hit piece on our company—we're competitors, and he's trying to drum up business for himself.
