a/(one's) tribe(redirected from his tribe)
1. One's family, especially one that is quite large. Usually used informally. My new boyfriend is coming over to meet my tribe for the first time this Saturday. Sarah wants to invite her entire tribe to our wedding, but I just don't think we can afford to have so many people there.
2. A community or group of people with whom one shares strong common interests or beliefs. Usually used informally. My interests made me something of an outsider during high school, but once I went to college I finally felt like I had found my tribe. The group has become a tribe for young people around the city looking to help shape the future of politics.
