To watch a show, film, or other program that one strongly dislikes for the purpose of being able to criticize it or derive enjoyment from such disdain. No, I don't actually like "The Bachelor," I just hate-watch it.

The problem with "hate-watching" a show is that the viewers have already decided, before the telecast of the program, that the show is going to be bad and they are going to mock it.
The last few series haven't been great, but I've still kept a hand in/cared who goes each week/bothered to take a look, even if I was just hate-watching. This year I've actually unset my Series Link and it's like being given the gift of time my weekends have basically doubled in length.
