To have a party, especially one marked by spirited dancing. "Knees-up" comes from "Knees Up Mother Brown," a song associated with the pubs of London's East End in the 20th century. I'm going to have a knees-up this weekend so we can celebrate finally finishing that big project! I'm so exhausted—Josh had a knees-up last night, and I didn't get home till late.
