get down from (something)

1. To climb down from a particular height. Hey, get down from there—that tree branch doesn't look stable! The cat refuses to get down from the railing—I swear, she's going to give me a heart attack!
2. To retrieve someone or something from a particular height or induce them to lower themselves. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "get" and "down." Mom, don't worry, I got the cat down from the railing. Get her down from there!
