1. To obtain one's pilot's license. I'm going to ask the pilot how long it takes for someone to get their wings.
2. slang To become addicted to drugs. Hey man, you better be careful using that stuff—you don't want to get your wings.
3. slang To use heroin for the first time. Once I got my wings, it wasn't long before I was addicted to the stuff.
