golden sombrero

In baseball, what a batter is humorously said to have earned after striking out four times in one game. The phrase is a play on the term "hat trick," which in soccer and hockey refers to the act of scoring three goals in one game. He's had a rough night at the plate and is one strikeout away from a golden sombrero.
