glad to see the back of (someone or something)
1. Happy or relieved to see someone leave (usually because one finds them irksome or unpleasant). I was happy to share my office space with Ed at first, but he's been driving me crazy lately. I'll be glad to see the back of him when the construction is done on his own office.
2. Happy or relieved to be rid of or finished with something, especially an unwanted or burdensome task or obligation. Yeah, I'll be glad to see the back of this diet. Thankfully it's just another three weeks until the wedding!
