1. To return to one's home and the people and things that await them there. After a long day of travel, I'm just looking forward to getting home to my wife and kids.
2. To bring something to one's home, usually in a speedy manner. In this usage, a noun or pronoun is used between "get" and "home." We can't make any other stops—we have to get these groceries home.
