get carried away with (someone or something)(redirected from gets carried away with you)
get carried away with (someone or something)
1. To become overly enthusiastic, excited, zealous, etc., about someone or something. I'm afraid she's getting carried away with this cute boy in her English class and neglecting her schoolwork. Try not to get carried away with brainstorming because we don't have a lot of time.
2. To use something to an extreme or excessive degree, especially unintentionally. Wow, it seems our interior designer got a little carried away with the antlers. I mean, how many pairs of decorative antlers does one house need? Don't get carried away with the wrecking ball now—we're only demolishing this part of the house.
