To develop a sense or suspicion that something is or may be the case. I get the feeling that you're mad at me. Did I do something wrong? I kept getting a feeling something was off about the whole situation, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

To have a sense or suspicion that something is the case. I have a feeling that she's mad at me, but I don't know what I did wrong. She has the feeling her application won't be accepted, but she's still hoping for the best.
