1. To participate in or establish an association with someone, something, or some organization. Johnny's getting involved with a nonprofit health clinic during his summer vacation. I got involved in politics when I was in college, but I've left all that behind now.
2. To become embroiled in some event, situation, predicament, etc. This stupid scheme is going to cost me everything I have. I never should have gotten involved with you idiots! 3. To begin having romantic or sexual relations (with someone). Georgina and I got involved after working together for a couple of years. You should never get involved with a colleague—it can only lead to trouble.

3. To become emotionally, romantically, or sexually associated with someone. I got involved with Georgina over two years ago, and we both couldn't be happier! You should never get involved with a co-worker or colleague—it can only lead to trouble.
