1. Literally, to begin obstructing or impeding someone. Just get out of the way when she's upset like this. I appreciate that you're trying to help, but you'd actually be more helpful if you got out of the way.
2. To become accustomed to something. I think you'll feel better once you've gotten into the way of doing your new job.
